Grace students attend Diversity Conferences

A group of 11th and 12th grade students joined a handful of faculty members on a trip to Nashville to attend two concurrent NAIS programs, the Student Diversity Leadership Conference and the People of Color Conference.
Teachers attended workshops, affinity groups, and networking events with educators from across the country who center diversity, equity, and inclusion work in their professional lives. At the same time, students spent three days exploring identity development and social justice, connecting with peers of their similar age-groups in a transformative experience. "SDLC was the most empowering and accepting space I’d ever been in," asserted one senior attendee. Another said, "SDLC showed me how to be proud of who I am and how to help others be proud of themselves as well. I am a better, more confident, and self/socially aware person since going to the Student Diversity Leadership Conference and I couldn't be more grateful."
