Earth Day Events

Grace students will recognize Earth Day with various events throughout the week.
First up, students will be offering steel straws and hand-made "Sleeve Sleeves" (reusable coffee sleeves made from sweatshirt sleeves) in the front lobby. Single-use plastics and disposable cups turn our morning routines into an environmental hazard! Americans alone use 500 million straws daily, according to the National Park Service. Today members of the high school Green Team and Ms. Chaloner's Water Rights class offered a "straw exchange" for any student who brought a single-use plastic straw into the lobby.  Free compostable and biodegradable straws were offered, as well as $1 permanent options like silicon, steel, and durable plastic. Funds raised will help supper WaterAid and Food and Water Watch.
