Every Child, Every Day

At Grace, support is proactive, a feature of how we teach every child, every day. We are a general education school, and our commitment is to ensure that all of our students have full access to our program: not by lowering the bar, but by giving every child what they need to meet it.

Support is provided primarily in the classroom or in small group settings, woven naturally into the rhythm of the school day. When a student would benefit from more targeted assistance, short-term individualized support is available at the recommendation of the division head or the guidance committee.

Lower School Learning Lab extends this support beyond the school day. Available to students in first through fourth grade after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, the program provides a small group setting where students can work on assignments, strengthen executive functioning skills, and build academic skills with the support of GCS teachers. Coordinated closely with homeroom teachers, the Learning Lab ensures that the support students receive after school is cohesive and responsive to what is happening in the classroom.

We believe that when school and home are in close partnership, every child is better positioned to do the hard, rewarding work of learning.
