Extracurriculars: Beyond the Bell

Life at Grace doesn’t end at dismissal. Our extended programs are designed to give students more time to explore their interests, deepen their skills, and build community—in the same safe, supportive environment they know from the school day.

Grace After School Program

Junior Griffins

The Junior Griffins program gives kindergarten through fourth grade students the opportunity to experience Grace athletics and be coached by members of Grace’s own middle and high school teams. It is an introduction to what it means to be a Griffin: to compete with skill, sportsmanship, and pride. Current offerings include fall basketball, winter volleyball, and spring soccer.

June School

June School is an optional program open to students entering junior kindergarten through fifth grade, which runs in the weeks immediately following the close of the academic year. Staffed by members of the Grace faculty, the program offers a range of activities including computer, music, art, bowling, and physical education. June School is also an ideal introduction to Grace for families whose children will be attending for the first time in the fall—an excellent opportunity for them to begin making friends, to get to know the building, and to arrive in September feeling at home.

Summer Book Club

Summer Book Club runs in the mornings during June School and is open to rising first through fifth grade students. Through games, activities, and shared reading, students build enthusiasm for books and learning over the summer—whether they are seasoned readers or just finding their footing. Students who participate may also join June School in the afternoons.

“What I love most about GASP is watching students discover something new about themselves—a talent they didn’t know they had, a friendship they didn’t expect, or a passion they’ll carry with them long after they leave us.”

Joanna Wesley,
Kindergarten Head Teacher
Interim Auxiliary Program Coordinator
