Beyond the Bell

Life at Grace doesn’t end at dismissal. Our auxiliary programs are designed to give students more time outside of the regular school day to explore their interests, deepen their skills, and build community in Grace’s safe, supportive environment. As students move through the Lower School, the range and variety of after-school offerings grow with them.

Grace After School Program

The Junior Griffins program gives kindergarten through fourth grade students the opportunity to experience Grace athletics, coached by members of Grace’s own middle and high school teams. It offers an introduction to what it means to be a Griffin: to compete with skill, sportsmanship, and pride. Current offerings include volleyball, flag football, basketball, badminton, pickleball, and soccer.

June School is an optional program open to students entering junior kindergarten through fifth grade, running in the weeks immediately following the close of the academic year. Staffed by members of the Grace faculty, the program offers a range of activities including music, art, technology, bowling, and physical education. June School is also an ideal introduction to Grace for families whose children will be entering for the first time in the fall—an opportunity to begin making friends and explore the building, allowing them to arrive in September feeling at home.

Summer Book Club runs in the mornings during June School and is open to students in the Lower School. Through games, activities, and shared reading, students build enthusiasm for books and learning over the summer—whether they are seasoned readers or just starting out. Students who participate in Summer Book Club may also join June School in the afternoons.

Grace’s after-school programs are extensions of the same community students experience during the day—safe, supportive, and full of opportunity.
