Performing Arts
From band and chorus to theater and dance, students take advantage of a robust performing arts program that teaches skills and provides ample opportunities for performance. -
Author Visits
Classroom learning is supplemented with special visits from industry leaders. Younger students particularly delight in meeting authors, like Abby Hanlon, author and illustrator of the "Dory Fantasmagory" children's series, and Adam Gidwitz, Newbury Honor recipient and New York Times bestselling author. Grace's budding writers can ask questions about how professional authors find inspiration—and they're often treated to a reading! -
Fourth Grade Personal Narratives
Fourth graders learn how to craft narratives as part of their Language Arts curriculum. Each fall, they invite their grownups to school to share their projects. -
Second Grade Math Morning
Students in second grade explore math games and challenges from Bridges. Grownups join in on the fun each fall at the Second Grade Math Morning. -
The City as a Classroom
Joyful learning abounds inside the walls of 86 Fourth Avenue. But in a city like New York, there are endless opportunities for trips to local institutions that bring those lessons to life! From the Rubin Museum and the Peridance Center to the New York Historical Society and the headquarters of the NYC Emergency Management, students embrace the city as a classroom.

Celebrating Diversity
Fostering a deep sense of belonging is central to Grace's mission and critical to the academic success of students. At all ages, the curriculum celebrates cultural diversity as one way of creating an environment of broad welcome. Special programming, including assemblies, performances, workshops, cultural exchanges, and symposia, provide opportunities for deeper learning. -
On the Field
Students at Grace participate in physical education classes beginning in junior kindergarten. Students also have an opportunity to engage in extracurricular sports through Junior Griffins, and as they get older, through our Middle School and High School Athletics Programs. On the field or off, student-athletes learn strategy, skills, and the importance of teamwork. -
Parent Visiting Day
Every November, on Parent Visiting Day, parents and guardians get a glimpse of their child's life at Grace, observing—and often participating in—everything from science lessons to dance class! -
What is Chapel?
The Grace community is made up of families from many different faiths as well as those who do not observe a religion. Weekly chapels are a time when all students, regardless of belief system, explore universal values like kindness, respect, courage, and gratitude, in a welcoming, supportive, and joyful space.
