LS Students Meet Food Waste Challenge Head On

On Friday, December 9, Cater to You Wellness & Sustainability Director Rachel Frank visited students in the Lower School to talk about food waste and its impact on climate change. Students eagerly participated in a discussion about what food waste is, why it matters, and what they can do to help.
Unbeknownst to the students, Rachel measured the amount of food thrown away at lunch over a period of three days before the presentation. She then took measurements over three days after the presentation. Remarkably, students reduced their food waste by a staggering 72%!  You can learn more about the effects of food waste here and watch this video to continue the conversation at home. Well done, Green Griffins!
