  • Steel Pick on January 3 - Weather Permitting

We will be lifting large pieces of steel up onto the roof of the High School the week after New Years. There will be a crane on the street on January 3. Please pray for good weather as this is the crucial “steel pick.”  There will be another “pick” over MLK weekend and the weekend after that. If that all goes well we will be on track for our September 18, 2018 opening of the gym and other spaces on the fourth floor.
  • "Roof Breaking" - August 10, 2017

    Dear Grace Community,

I am excited to announce that the gym construction project at 46 Cooper Square began earlier this week. We took possession of the fourth floor on Monday and by Tuesday the demolition crew began its work. We are officially under construction!

This "roof-breaking," as we're calling it, is the first step in the next major expansion project at Grace. The new 14,000 square foot facility will have a major impact on every student in the school. When it opens in September 2018, it will be one of the largest on-campus athletics facilities among independent schools in New York City.

You can follow the progress of construction on this new section of our website. You will find project updates, renderings and floor plans, photos and videos of our progress, and details about major events like road closures.

I look forward to seeing you and your children in a few short weeks.
