Mandarin IV students won the Gold Medal at the annual "NYU Rock That Movie" competition in early May. It was the first time Grace students participated in the competition with over 20 high schools participating from NYC, NJ, DC and CA.
Three Grace students, Kit Keenan '17, Stella Gatti '17 and Zoe Pratt '17, won Best Experimental Video for their film "GIRL$" at theNew York Alliance Film Festival, the first annual independent school film festival. The film was the top rated submission of 75 films from 30 schools. The film was screened at AMC Empire 25 followed by the award presented by Nick Ravich of PBS Series ART21.
Senior student-athletes and twins, Griffin and Sophia Taylor, have both signed letters of intent to attend and swim for NCAA Division 1 Colleges in the fall. Sophia will be attending the University of Hawaii and Griffin will head to Boston College.
Sophie Frances '16 earned a National Medal from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for her work 'Compress'. Her work will be featured at the Met in the Ursis Center for Education through May 30th and she will be honored in a ceremony that takes place at Carnegie Hall on June 2nd. Sophie was also asked to represent the Scholastic Award winners at the United Nations.
Grace students taking an Engineering Course at Cooper Union are working on a year-long collaborative project to design and build a working machine. As part of their project students took body scans of themselves and then, using the digital scan, printed 3D busts of themselves on Grace's 3D printers.
