Faculty Commitment

Beyond our professional development opportunities focused on diversity, inclusion, and anti-racist practices, faculty also meet in small groups to discuss their work and our goals as a school.  Our Faculty Gay-Straight Alliance, MLK Committee, and White Anti-Racist Affinity Group, are a few of the places where faculty can learn, collaborate and innovate.

  • Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Committee and MLK Symposium Advisors

Members of this committee meet to determine our year-long programming focused on community equity and justice, inspired by the civil rights movement.   Various events, including our high school MLK symposium, our  MLK peace march, and the 8th grade book writing project, are featured events each year.
  • Faculty Gay-Straight Alliance

Faculty gather in our Gay-Straight Alliance to share programs, lessons, and community education opportunities that support our LGBTQ+ community.
  • White Anti-Racism Affinity Group

WAAG @ Grace (White Anti-Racism Affinity Group) is a facilitated space for white educators who are exploring their own racial identity development and learning about  how their whiteness impacts teaching practices, community building, and school culture. We aim to learn together through our discussions as well as available resources (books, podcasts, articles, etc) and workshops (Undoing Racism, White Privilege Conference, CARLE), to explore how white people experience discussing race and to improve our skills in multiracial collaboration towards creating an anti-racist community.
