New Lower School Head Appointed

Randall Flinn has been appointed the Head of the Lower School following one year as the Interim Head of the Lower School for the current school year. Randall came to Grace from Convent of the Sacred Heart School on East 91st Street where she was Assistant Head of the Lower School since 2011. While at Sacred Heart she was the Co-Director of their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Team and came to visit Grace on several occasions.
She also provided crucial leadership in curriculum development at Sacred Heart and was a part of their admissions team. Randall was also a Lower School classroom teacher and a Literacy Specialist at PS 212, a public elementary school in Manhattan established by Bank Street School for Children, which emphasizes integration, collaboration and project-based learning.

Randall has spent this extraordinarily unique school year getting to know the families and faculty, while providing leadership for grades 2-4. Of her first visit to Grace in 2010 she described that the school immediately felt like home to her. "Everywhere people were chatting and laughing in the hallways of the lobby at 86. I felt the most joyous, kinetic energy from the community that was both instantly contagious and inspiring. I kept coming back to Grace and hoped that one day a leadership position would become available."

When not at Grace, Randall loves to spend time with her two boys, Oscar, 10 and Emerson, 7. She lives in Brooklyn with her family and enjoys listening to music, painting with her boys, cooking and spending quality time with close friends. She is very excited to get to know each member of the community and feels very blessed and honored to continue her journey with the wonderful, caring and special community at Grace. Randall has an M.Ed from Teachers College, Columbia University in Organization and Leadership, an M.Ed in Early Childhood & Elementary Education from NYU, and a B.A. from Pitzer College.
