EC Students Talk Food Waste

Rachel Frank from Cater to You visited our Early Childhood division today to talk about food waste.
Did you know that 40% of food is wasted in New York City? As Rachel mentioned, that's like throwing out 3 slices of pizza before you even serve the first slice, a fact that Early Childhood students found incredible! Students had their food waste measured last week, and Rachel let them know that they can be a part of the solution going forward. Next week the Early Childhood lunch group will have a Food Waste Challenge to reduce wastes. Students will try to select food thoughtfully, only take what they plan to eat knowing they can always get more, and think carefully about the environmental impact of their choices. We wish them the best of luck!
