PE Footwear

Just a friendly reminder that we expect every student to wear sneakers to Physical Education class, to ensure his or her safety during activity. Slip on shoes do not provide stability during movement and allow the foot to slide around during vigorous activity, which is unsafe for your child. Please make sure that all sneakers have either shoelaces or Velcro.

Improper shoes can lead to foot, ankle, knee, hip and lower back problems in the future.

Mary Jane style shoes, as well as any sneakers that are slip-ons, are not acceptable for the activity your child will be doing. Shoes that are not sneakers but have a rubber-soled bottom are not appropriate either.

Please view photos of sample footwear allowed in PE classes.

Any student who reports to physical education class wearing unsafe footwear will not be allowed to participate, which is not our mission in PE: we want everyone active. Please make sure that your child has the best footwear possible to participate in a safe and enjoyable environment in PE.

Please have your children in proper footwear on the days that they have PE.

Please help us keep your children safe and free from injuries.
