The library serves a diverse population of 416 students in grades Junior Kindergarten through Grade Eight. Lower School Students (Junior Kindergarten to Grade Four) have scheduled weekly library classes. Upper School Students (Grades Five to Eight) are flexibly scheduled according to research and recreational reading needs.
Lower School
Lower School classes go to the library once a week for a 40 minute period, (30 minutes for Junior Kindergarten). Librarians read aloud for half the period. The children then look for books to check out.
- Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten students may borrow one book every week. The book remains in the classroom.
- Grade One students may borrow one book to take home for one week. They must return that book before borrowing another one.
- Books circulate for two weeks for all other grades. Books may be renewed if brought into the library for renewal.
- Fines are not charged. Students are expected to be responsible users of the library and return books on time.
- Borrowing privileges may be suspended for students with overdue library books.
- Replacement costs will be charged for lost or damaged books.
- Current magazines do not circulate. Back issues do.
