A.265. Ben Paintsneezer sneezed 5 beautiful
colored circles onto his friend's bag. The lilac is the smallest. The yellow
is smaller than the green. However, the blue is greater than the yellow
and the green, but smaller than the red. Put the 5 colors in an increasing
order of their size.
A.266. Arthur, who loves sweets, bought
some chocolate. He picked all of them out of the $5 and the $8 chocolates.
He paid exactly $72. How many chocolates did he buy all together?
A.267. Tony goes to the flee market on
a regular bases where 2 chocolates with almonds worth the same as 2 rectangular
chocolates and 2 round shape chocolates together. 3 round shape chocolates
and a chocolate with almonds together worth the same as 2 chocolates with
almonds.
a) How many round shape chocolates worth one chocolate with almonds?
b) How many round shape chocolates worth one rectangular chocolate?
A.268. Cathy has a little calculator which
can add, multiply and divide. It is programmed in such a way that if you
type in 8, 10, and 2 in this order, the calculator will print out 85 on
its screen. If you type in 4, 15, and 5, the outcome is 63. If you type
in 4, 6, and 2, the outcome is 27. What is the command of operations in
the program if the programmer used all three of these operations exactly
once?
(The program did not use any additional number, but it used some of
the three input numbers more than once in its command of operations.)
A.269. Pom Pom waits for his younger brother
every day sitting on a tree branch in front of the school. In his boredom,
starting at 8:15 am, he counts the numbers of bell rings coming from a steeple
nearby. The clock rings the bell once at every half of an hour, and at the
hour it rings as many times as the actual hour is. Today Pom Pom took a
nap at one point, therefore, up until 1:15 pm he counted 36 bell rings.
How long could he sleep the most?
A.270. Olga's little school has 8 classes
with a total of 208 students. Every class has 2 less students than the one
"below" it. Therefore, the 8th grade class has the least students
and the 1st grade class has the most students. How many students are in
each class?
A.271. During a lesson, students who wear
glasses and students who participate in afterschool sport teams are called
to go to the school nurse. In the class, out of the 27 students, 5 students
wear glasses and 12 students participate in sport teams. How many students
could possible stay up in the classroom the most and the least if nobody
was absent that day?
A.272. Tiny Tina erased the operation signs
(addition, subtraction and multiplication) in a few homework assignments
of her older sister, in the others she erased the parentheses. Fix the mistakes
so that every equality is true.
