The rich diversity of New York City and its environs is widely
reflected throughout the student population of Grace Church School.
The school seeks to enroll children who demonstrate the skills necessary
to achieve success in our challenging curriculum and who will contribute
to the life and vitality of the school community. The school welcomes
families who value the important partnership between school and
home. The admissions process begins in the fall prior to the year
of enrollment and closes for the Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten
and Grade One on December 1.
The birthday cut-off for Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Grade One is September
1.
We ask parents to submit a completed
application form with a $50 fee, then to call the school to arrange a tour
and an interview.
All appointments for tours must be scheduled with the admissions office before
December 6.
Children applying to Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Grade
One are seen individually or in small groups by teachers of the
Early Childhood Division or the Head of the Lower School. For all
other grades, children are invited to spend a morning visiting classes.
A standardized test administered by the Educational Records Bureau
and a current school report are required to complete the admissions
process.
Depending on grade placement, parents
will be notified of acceptances for the next academic year from mid-February
to early March according to the dates specified by the Independent
School Admissions Association of Greater New York. A signed
enrollment agreement and a $4,000 non-refundable deposit will secure
a child's place.
