  • JK, K & Grade 1

    1. Please begin your application on Finalsite. Once you have applied you will be taken to a link where you can schedule your parent/guardian tour that includes a talk by Head of School, Robbie Pennoyer.

    2. After you have selected your tour, please call Simon Thomas-Train to schedule both your online parent/guardian interview and your child’s in person visit to Grace. Please check our FAQ to read about what to expect for your student’s interview.

    3. Through your online application portal, you will send a request for a confidential ISAAGNY report directly to your child’s current teacher. Please note that standardized testing is not required for applicants for grades JK-1.

    4. Once these steps are finished, your application will be marked as complete. In the meantime, please feel free to email Kate Patton, kpatton@gcschool.org with any questions.

  • Grades 2-4

  • Grades 5-8

    1. Please begin your application on Finalsite. Once you have applied you will be taken to a link where you can schedule your parent/guardian tour that includes a talk by Head of School, Robbie Pennoyer.

    2. After you have selected your tour please call Simon Thomas-Train to schedule both your parent/guardian and student interviews. Both interviews are done online via Zoom. Please check our FAQ to read about what to expect for your student’s interview.
     
    3. Please use the link to send the student’s transcript (minimum 2 years) directly to Grace via the online application portal.
     
    4.  Submit two teacher recommendations from your current math and English teachers, as well as a recommendation from the Head of School, guidance counselor or division head, through the online application portal. Schools should not send transcripts or recommendations before mid-November, at the earliest, to give faculty time to know your child. Forms are available on the online application portal.
     
    5. Arrange for your student to take either the ISEE or SSAT test in the fall.
     
    6. Submit a copy of a graded essay with the teacher's comments visible. The essay should not be a creative writing paper; it may be selected by the student from a current English or history class. This essay should be uploaded via the online application portal.

    7.  Please choose a date from the Middle School Assessments calendar via your online application portal.

Admissions Policies

Siblings, legacies, staff/faculty of Grace Church School, and Grace Church parishioners of at least 3 years standing receive preference at the Junior Kindergarten entry level only.

Parents will be notified of admissions decisions for the next academic year from February to early March according to the dates specified by the Independent School Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY).
