We encourage you to come to the Library from 8:00 to 9:00 A.M. or after 3:00 P.M. until closing to borrow books with and for your children (especially for children in JrK and K, who cannot take books home). The small LS Room is always available if you wish to read to your child in the Library. The librarians can help you choose good books for your children. We also have a section on parenting you may wish to browse.

The Internet and Your Child

• The American Library Association (ALA) website provides a good introduction to features and guidelines for effective family use of the Internet.

• The American Association of School Librarians (AASL's ICONnect) offers quality online courses on Internet basics free.

• Another site offering good suggestions about kids and the Internet is Safe Kids.

• Online netLibrary's eBook Catalog provides titles and detailed information on number of eBooks, price for the collection, and the average cost for each title.

• Lightspan Study Web: Homework Help especially designed for K-8 students. Help for Parents section provides links to multiple sites that offer suggestions about how to help children with homework.
