This site is a guide to the resources and information available at Stokes Library Media Center.
Stokes Library Media Center is a modern multimedia library center occupying a five-room complex in the former refectory of the Grace Church School -- a gracious traditional space featuring oak beams and woodwork, a marble floor, two marble fireplaces, and two bay windows of ornate leaded glass.

OUR COLLECTION

The Library features a book collection of over 18,000 volumes, a periodical collection, an automated circulation and cataloging system using Winnebago Spectrum CircCat software for Macintosh, a CD-ROM Resource Room, full-text periodical indexes, full Internet access, and encyclopedias online.
Stokes Library is a member of the New York City School Library System and participates in interlibrary loan.

LIBRARY PROGRAM


The library serves a diverse population of 390 students in grades JrK-8. Lower School Students (JrK-4) have scheduled weekly library classes. Upper School Students (5-8) are flexibly scheduled according to research and recreational reading needs. The library is open before and after school and is used extensively by parents and caregivers as well as by administrators, faculty, and students.
